چکیده

In this paper, we describe a parametrized sorting system for a large set of k-bit elements. The structure of the system is independent from the problem size (the number of elements to be sorted) and the type of the sorting set (for example, a set of k-b i t n umbers, an alphabetical list of k-bit words etc.), as well as from the ordering relation deened on the set of the elements (such as ascending or descending order of k-bit numbers, or a speciic order of alphabetical words). The general structure of the underlying parallel network is based on the n-dimensional hypercube. The node circuit construction deenes the type of the sorting elements, thus deening the semantics of the system. The structure of the circuit implements the Columnsort algorithm introduced by Leighton in Lei85]. By changing only one subcircuit of the size O(k) i n t h e n o d e , w e can deene diierent ordering relations of the sorted elements. The system is based on speciic VLSI chips that were developed in Gam96] with the CAD system Cadic Bur95], that has been developed in the project B1 "VLSI design systems and parallelity\ under guidance of Prof. G. Hotz. The result is a fast system that sorts the sets of up to 2 28 64-bit numbers. The maximal sorting time is less than 43,6 seconds that is better than some of the fastest software realizations implemented at

With the huge global and wide range of attention placed upon quality, promoting and optimize the reliability of the products during the design process has turned out to be a high priority. In this study, the researcher have adopted one of the existing models in the reliability science and propose a bi-objective model for redundancy allocation in the series-parallel systems in accordance with th...

An Adapted Non-dominated Sorting Algorithm (ANSA) for Solving Multi Objective Trip Distribution Problem

Trip distribution deals with estimation of trips distributed among origins and destinations and is one of the important stages in transportation planning. Since in the real world, trip distribution models often have more than one objective, multi-objective models are developed to cope with a set of conflict goals in this area. In a proposed method of adapted non-dominated sorting algorithm (ANS...

As a Brain computer interface system, BCI P300 Speller tries to help disabled people and patients to regain some of their lost ability with allowing communication via typing. The ability of personalization is one of the most important features in a BCI system, so the typing language as a personalization factor is an important feature in a BCI speller. Most prior researches on P300 Speller has f...

The Recursive Structure of Some Ordering Problems

Some classical ordering problems (sorting, finding the maximum, finding the maximum and the minimum, finding the largest and the next largest, merging, and finding the median) are considered from a recursive viewpoint. If X(n) denotes an instance of size n of any one of these problems then X(n) can be solved by finding the solution to a number ~(n, k) of problems X(k) for some fixed k; ~(n, k) ...
